It’s been 2 weeks since I joined Binar Academy UI/UX Design Bootcamp. After lot of consideration within myself, I finally decided to join in this 4 months bootcamp.

First thing first, I have totally zero experiences in UI/UX or something that related with product. I came from Geophysics major that actually has no correlation with product design. But, I could say that I have an interest in art. Since I was in the college, I spent lot of my time to design with tools such Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw. At first, I merely used it for personal fun, because the fact that I am a fan of minimalism design, so I was trying to do so. Beside of that, I am also a fan of minimalism architecture and interior design. I often surf, enjoy, and pamper my eyes with that on Instagram and Twitter.

Okay let’s get back to where I spent lot of time in designing something. I often design posters of an event and instagram feed back then. I also being involved in lot of event committee and an organization, where I oftenly placed in publication, design, and documentation section. Starting from there, the design that I made has a purpose, it’s no longer just for fun design. I am happy as people see my design and provide feedback, so I can keep on improving my design.

As the time goes by, I finally graduated from the college. If I can remember, I haven’t designed anything since I started my thesis. I really lost track of design time. Then we jump to late 2019 where I started to know UI/UX Design. I knew it from one of my highschool friend who’s working as UI/UX Designer in one of telco company. Nothing improve significantly within myself until mid of 2020. One weekend during this pandemic, I went to a coworking space in Bintaro with my friend (not a good example, lol). My intention at that time was to learn more about data analytics. But somehow the conversation headed to product design, specifically UI/UX Design. My friend recommended me to know more about that by joining a bootcamp. Finally I found Binar Academy. At that moment, I immediately join the silver class to know at least the basic of product design and little about UI/UX Design for instance.

At the end of August, I finally made a decision to join Binar Academy UI/UX Design Bootcamp. Hopefully by joining this bootcamp, I can know more about product design and specifically UI/UX Design, both in theory and practice. The bootcamp has been starting for about 2 weeks until I write this.

Actually I write this to refresh my memory. I would like to discuss and share what I have learned in the bootcamp so far. Possibly in the next story, I will write about the initial steps in designing a product, more precisely a digital product. Hopefully I can make it regularly right after I finished the class.
